*Says highway safe to travel, deploys more troops
The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Usman Alkali ,has debunked the rumours that Abuja-Kaduna Highway is no longer accessible due to bandits attacks.
The IGP spoke on Saturday when he patrolled the Abuja-Kaduna highway.
He also deployed more troops to the Abuja-Kaduna to boost security, following Monday’s attack on AK9 train by terrorists.
The IGP added that adequate arrangement has been put in place to secure the road against bandits.
The police boss further disclosed that troops have been deployed to the scene of the train attack inside Dutse forest in Chikun local government area of Kaduna State , where repairs of the destroyed rail tracks were on going.
He said, “Rumours that Kaduna is no longer accessible due to attacks is not true.The Abuja-Kaduna highway is safe for people to travel by.”
