…There’s no casualties over incident, says Spokesman
A section of the Supreme Court in Abuja was gutted by fire on Monday morning.
But the Supreme Court’s Spokesman, Mr Festus Akande, told Channels Television on telephone that the cause of the fire was electrical from one of the Chambers of the Justices of the Supreme Court (JSCs).
He added that the fire was put out with the use of fire extinguishers.
Akande further debunked the stories making the rounds on social media that there are casualties, saying that the stories are “fake news”.
A source who sought anonymity, said the fire started around 6 am.
It was further gathered that the cleaners on duty and some of the workers who resumed early for work detected the fire and raised the alarm.
The workers were said to have used the fire extinguishers in the building to combat the fire.
Three offices, including that of a JSC, Justice Mohammed Saulawa, were touched by the fire.
