Reinstated Edo State Deputy Governor, Hon Philip Shaibu and former Edo State Governor, Senator Adam Oshiomhole, have won the Estako West Local Government for the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the just concluded 2024 governorship election in the state.

Etsako West Local Government, which is home to both Shaibu and Oshiomhole saw APC’s governorship candidate, Monday Okpebholo, polling 32,107 votes to defeat his closest opponent from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Asue Ighodalo, who received 17,483 votes.

It is instructive to note that Shaibu rejoined the APC in the buildup to the election after a tough legal battle between him and his boss, Governor Godwin Obaseki, who anointed Ighodalo ahead of him.
