Prominent indigene of Yobe State, Bar Shuaibu Maina Birma, has commended the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA) over the installation of Solar panel street lights at Ngurum, Gulani Local Government Area of Yobe State.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Birma said that the project is a source of joy as his people can now enjoy the social amenity of electricity in the community.

Birma also commended the Federal Government for the initiative and assured that the community will jealously protect the facility which he also noted, will improve on the security and vigilante surveillance.

According to him, this facility is the first of its kind in the area, that has been coping with lack of basic social amenities for years.

He further urged the federal authorities to make their presence felt more in the village by providing other amenities like boreholes, health clinics and rural roads connecting the farmers to the major surrounding towns to boost trade and commerce.

Birma also urged the state government to open up the communities in Gulani local government by constructing inter-communal roads between the various communities in the state.
