About 30 people have lost their lives in a fatal auto crash along the Ore-Lagos highway in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident on Sunday, saying that bloody auto crash occurred on Saturday night.
According to the FRSC Sector Commander in Ondo State, Samuel Ibitoye, 28 victims were burnt beyond recognition, while two others died while being rushed to the hospital.
Two survivors are currently receiving medical treatment.
Ibitoye explained that the accident was caused by a head-on collision between two commercial buses, which immediately burst into flames.
Preliminary investigations suggest that one of the buses was driving against traffic, leading to the fatal crash.
Ibitoye added that further investigations are ongoing to uncover more details about the tragic incident.
