The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has disowned the appearance of one of its former staff, Olakunle Alex Folarin, on a matchmaking programme hosted on Leke Miami’s social media platforms, saying that Folarin is a dismissed driver with the agency.

Speaking in a statement made available on Monday by its Head of Media & Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the EFCC also disclosed that Folarin was recently dismissed for certificate forgery.

According to the foremost anti-graft agency, Folarin served as a driver at the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the EFCC before his dismissal.

The statement reads in part, “Folarin was recently dismissed from the Commission for certificate forgery. He was a driver at the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the EFCC.”

The Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has directed the arrest of Folarin for unlawful possession of some Commission’s properties, including an official Identity Card, which he failed to surrender after his dismissal.

The EFCC further urged the general public not to associate the dismissed staff’s actions with the Commission, saying that, “The public is advised against associating Folarin’s post-dismissal conduct with the EFCC,” the statement added.
