President Bola Tinubu will on Wednesday (today) address the nation at about 7am as Nigeria marks its 65th Independence anniversary.

This was disclosed in a statement made available on Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, “All television, radio stations, and other electronic media outlets are urged to join the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) for the broadcast.”

The address, which will be Tinubu’s third Independence Day broadcast since assuming office in May 2023, comes at a period when Nigerians are grappling with pressing economic and security challenges. Citizens are expected to keenly watch for the President’s message of reassurance, policy direction, and national unity.

Independence Day speeches have often been defining moments for Nigerian leaders.
