The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, and his wife, Chioma, celebrated their birthdays in grand style over the week, drawing family members, friends and dignitaries from across the country.

The celebrations featured separate thanksgiving masses and a praise dinner held at the Imo State Government House in Owerri. Governors, first ladies, political associates and well-wishers gathered to honour the couple and celebrate with them.

In heartfelt messages shared to mark the occasion, the couple expressed love, unity and gratitude to God, wishing each other continued blessings and fulfilment.

Chioma, who turned 36, expressed deep appreciation to God for the gift of life and the opportunities she and her husband have received. Speaking at her all-white dinner, she said she measures her years not by age alone, but by divine mercy and grace.

“I do not just count years; I count the abundance of mercies and opportunities I have been granted, a reason to show gratitude to God,” she said.

The First Lady also paid tribute to her husband, describing him as a thoughtful and supportive partner who pays attention to the little things and values the people around him.

“He remembers the small details that matter, shows up for the people he loves, and has this remarkable way of making everyone feel seen and valued,” she added.

Governor Uzodimma, who marked his 67th birthday, described the evening in his own message as warm, elegant and filled with gratitude. He expressed delight at the atmosphere of worship and celebration created by the musical performances.

“I couldn’t help but vibe to the soul-stirring harmonies, rich vocals and uplifting rhythms that filled the venue with joy and reverence,” he said.

The praise dinner, hosted by comedian Okey Bakassi, brought together friends, family members and well-wishers. Gospel artistes Mercy Chinwo and Mr M & Revelation thrilled guests with songs of praise, setting the tone for a night of worship and celebration.

One of the highlights of the celebrations was the affectionate moment shared by the governor and his wife on stage, including a kiss and dance that drew applause from guests. The governor also raised a toast in celebration of himself and his wife, thanking attendees for their love and goodwill.

He further prayed for God’s blessings upon everyone who honoured them with their presence.

The evening ended with guests dancing, dining and celebrating in an atmosphere of joy and thanksgiving. Tributes and goodwill messages also poured in from President Bola Tinubu, Abia State Governor Alex Otti, Ebonyi State Governor Uzoamaka Nwifuru, and other prominent Nigerians.
