The Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami (SAN), on Friday, got married to Nana Hadiza, the daughter of President  Muhammadu Buhari.

Confirming the development, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu, said, “It is true. The AGF got married to the President’s daughter.”

Nana Hadiza is the third daughter from Buhari’s first wife, the late Safinatu Buhari.

With the new marriage, Nana Hadiza becomes AGF Malami’s third wife, having been married to Aisha and Fatima before now.

Nana Hadiza had once been married to Abdulrahman Mamman Kurfi and had six children before the marriage ended in a divorce.

It was gathered that the private Nikkai ceremony took place inside the State House Mosque after the Jumat service, away from prying eyes of uninvited guests and the media.

A source at the Presidential Villa who sought anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on the matter, said,  “It’s true, the AGF is now officially an in-law of Mr President. He got married to Hadiza, one of Baba’s daughters from his late first wife, Safinatu.

“The Nikkai was performed after the Jumat in the State House Mosque and not many people witnessed it. It was meant to be a private ceremony. So,  journalists couldn’t have been part of it”.

The private ceremony was said to have been attended by close family members and very few top government officials.
