First Lady of Nigeria, Dr. Aisha Buhari, has inaugurated the Board of the newly established Future Assured College and urged members to propagate the principle of service to humanity.
The event took place on Tuesday at the State House, Abuja.
Speaking on the mission of the College, Mrs Buhari said the development is to improve the lives of the youths from less privileged backgrounds, especially those affected by insurgency, saying that the effect of insurgency should not be allowed to shatter their future.

She said, “We must support them and offer them a better tomorrow.”
Mrs. Buhari also stated that each of the board members was carefully selected due to their contributions to the society and their acceptance has indicated not just their commitment to develop the college into an enviable position, but demonstrated their readiness to continue to serve humanity.
In his acceptance speech, Chairman of the Board of the College, former Borno State Governor, Senator Kashim Shettima, said it was an honour to serve in the Board of the Future Assured College due to the humanitarian spirit behind its establishment.

He commended the First Lady for the laudable projects and programmes she initiated through the Future Assured Initiative, saying that it is important to note that she is walking her talk.
He said, “It is easy to make pronouncements, but quite another thing to actually do what you preaches. Therefore, by establishing this school, the First Lady has made her mark and set an example in the promotion of girl-child education.”
He promised that the members of the board will deliver on their assignment with total commitment, on trust and with all sense of responsibility.
