Voters in Anambra State have exercised their franchise in the state governorship election on Saturday as sorting and counting of their votes are ongoing in all the local governments areas of the state.
The sorting and counting of votes began at about 2pm in some polling units across the state.
In polling unit 10, 02, and 03 Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area (LGA), the sorting of votes began around that time.
Other places in the state commenced the sorting and counting later on.
It is instructive to note that Saturday’s exercise was peaceful with no reports of violence in any of the polling units while some of the candidates and observers alleged vote-buying in certain areas of the state.
