Datti, APC

The Labour Party Vice Presidential Candidate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for fabricating falsehoods and empty derogatory personal attacks on Peter Obi, LP Presidential flag bearer.

He also lambasted the APC Presidential candidate and former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu and his counterpart in Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, for denigrating the LP candidate.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday in Abuja, Baba-Ahmed equally expressed disappointment that despite signing a peace accord the APC and PDP candidates have used campaign events to spew invectives and spread disinformation about Obi.

This is as he disclosed sadness over the increasing spate of attacks on LP party supporters which in some cases he alleged has led to the death of party members, the recent being the killing of the Labour Party Woman Leader, Victoria Chintex, in Kaura, Kaduna State.

While maintaining that Obi is a successful businessman, a two-term Governor, and a Vice Presidential Candidate in 2019, Senator Datti-Ahmed further condemned what he described as the unguarded and uncultured mannerisms of former Borno State governor and APC Vice Presidential Candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima for his rhetorics in recent times.

He said, “In the squabble for second and third positions, some erstwhile major political parties appear to have crossed the boundaries of decency to transgress our peaceful activities and our focus on political schedules.

“On the 29th September 2022, an eminent group of statesmen under the aegis of the National Peace Committee brought together all the Presidential Candidates to sign a Peace Accord, which represents an agreed code of conduct for the 2023 election.

“It is unfortunate that despite the noble objectives of this initiative, disinformation and misinformation about the Labour Party and its candidates have become fashionable in this election season.
