Top government officials and experts, including the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, and the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, have been slated to attend a Town Hall Meeting on tax reform, scheduled for February 6 in Abuja.
Other participants include Senator Ireti Heebah Kingibe, FIRS Chairman Zach Adedeji, Senator Babajide Omoworare, NIWA MD/CEO Bola Oyebamiji, Chairman of the Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee, Taiwo Oyedele and the CEO/MD, Cubical Vertex Solutions Limited, Engr Abdullahi Hashim
Key economists, including Professor Joseph Nnanna of the Development Bank of Nigeria and Paul Alaje, will also be in attendance.
Organized by the El-Mavericky Centre for Educational Research and Development, the event, tagged “Thinking of Taxes in a New Way,” aims to support policy formulation for economic growth.
According to the Centre’s Executive Director, Sulayman Nagoya, insights from the meeting will guide the government in shaping reforms to boost the economy.
Other dignitaries expected include Remi Omowaye, Executive Director of Project Implementation at the Federal Housing Authority, and Muskilu Mojeed, Editor-in-Chief of Premium Times.
