President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Justice Husseini Baba-Yusuf as the Acting Chief Judge of the High Court of Justice of the Federal Capital Territory.
TheIdeal had exclusively reported on Thursday that 12 days after Justice Salisu Garba, the Chief Judge of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court resigned his appointment to assume the position of Administrator of the National Judicial Institute (NJI), the Federal Government is yet to appoint a new CJ for the FCT High Court.
But a statement on Saturday by the NJC Director of Information, Mr Soji Oye which was made available to TheIdeal, said the appointment of the new acting CJ which takes effect from August 1, 2021 followed the recommendation of the National Judicial Council (NJC).
Baba-Yusuf will be sworn-in by the Chief Justice of Nigeria and Chairman of the National Judicial Council, Hon. Dr. Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad, on Monday 16 August 2021
