In continuation of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the BUA Cement Company, Sokoto Plant, on Thursday, donated 10,000 litres capacity solar powered borehole to Dagelawa village of Wajeke district in Wamakko Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
BUA also donated medical consumables worth N10million to eight clinics in Wamakko local government as well.
Speaking at Dagelawa village before presenting the N15million worth solar borehole, the Managing Director of BUA Cement, Engineer Yusuf Binji, said as responsible corporate organization, BUA is committed to the well-being of its host communities.
Binji, who was represented by the Corporate Affairs Manager of BUA, Sada Suleiman, said the solar powered borehole is unique.
He said, “This therefore means, Dahelawa being the benefiting community of our solar powered borehole, will contnue to enjoy unhindered water supply even without electricity”.
Making the donation of N10million worth drugs to clinics of Wajake, Kalambaina, Gidan Boka, Sabon Garin Alu, Arkila, Mobile.Police Clinic and Bakin Kusu, Sada noted that BUA gestures also include scholarship, provision of educational materials as well as other supports to neighboring States of Kebbi and Zamfara.
Appreciating BUA for solar powered borehole in Dagelawa and donation of medical consumables to eight clinics within Wamakko local government, the Village Head (Ardon Wajeke), Alhaji Muhammadu Mailatu, thanked BUA cement for all good gestures.
The Ardon Wajeke also prayed for continued harmonious mutual relationship with BUA.
On his part, the Vice Chairman of Wamakko local government, Zubairu Muhammed Dundaye, who represented the local government chairman, Hon Bello Haliru Guiwa, said BUA remained exceptional in the area of CSR.
