President Bola Tinubu has finally reshuffled his cabinet and sacked seven ministers from his government.

The affected ministers are the Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye; Minister of Tourism ; Lola Ade-John; Minister of Youth Development, Jamila Bio Ibrahim; Minister of Education, Prof Tahir Mamman (SAN); Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzowa and Minister of Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa.

Though the Presidency was silent on the status of the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr Betta Edu, Tinubu must have fired the embattled minister as he had appointed a new replacement for the ministry.

Meanwhile, Tinubu has appointed seven new ministers into his cabinet, subject to their confirmation by the Senate.

They are Ambassador Bianca Odimegwu Ojukwu, widow of the late Ikemba of Nnewi, Sir Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; and Jumoke Oduwole, ex-Executive Secretary to the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council, as Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment.

Others are Dr Nentawe Yilwatda, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction; Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, Minister of Labour & Employment; Idi Mukhtar Maiha, Ministry of Livestock Development; Hon.Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development and Dr Suwaiba Said Ahmad as Minister of State Education.

Tinubu also named former Minister of Sports, Mr Sunday Dare, as Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation.

Although it is not clearly stated, Dare is suspected to have replaced Ajuri Ngelale, who in September resigned as Presidential spokesman amid controversy.

Tinubu further charged the newly appointed cabinet members to see their appointments as a call to serve the nation.

He added that all appointees must understand the administration’s eagerness and determination to set Nigeria on the path to irreversible growth and invest the best of their abilities into the actualisation of the government’s priorities.
