The Cour D’Appel De Cotonou, Benin Republic, will on Friday (today) hear the case against a Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

Igboho has been returned to the custody of Brigade Criminelle in Cotonou.

But the court has released Igboho’s wife and also directed that her passport should be returned to her.

It was further gathered that the case was adjourned while Igboho was returned to custody on the grounds that the Nigerian government was yet to fill the extradition form.

But the lawyer to Igboho, Yomi Aliyu (SAN), had earlier informed newsmen that the court’s hearing for Thursday was just for registration of the matter.

The court is expected to rule on the merits or otherwise of the international arrest warrant against Igboho.

The court verdict will determine if Igboho will be extradited to Nigeria or not.

Igboho and his wife, Ropo, were said to be in custody since their arrest at the Cardinal Bernardin International Airport, Cotonou, while boarding a flight for Germany on Monday.
