A Magistrate Court sitting in Sabo, Yaba, Lagos State, has acquitted popular musician Abdulazeez Fashola, known as Naira Marley, of any involvement in the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly called Mohbad.
Delivering the ruling on Tuesday, Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje implemented the legal advice from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), which stated that Naira Marley had no case to answer.
Also discharged alongside him were music promoter Samson Balogun (Sam Larry), Owodunni Ibrahim (Primeboy), and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde.
But the DPP confirmed that it would proceed with the prosecution of the auxiliary nurse, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, who treated Mohbad, and one of the late singer’s friends, Ayobami Sadiq. Both are to face charges of reckless and negligent acts under Section 251 (e) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The trial of the duo is expected to take place at the magistrate court
