PalmPay, one of Nigeria’s foremost digital banking platforms, has joined forces with the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) in a renewed effort to raise public awareness on cybersecurity and online safety.

The collaboration came into focus during the Cybersecurity Awareness Walk held in Abuja as part of activities marking the 2025 Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

The event, with a theme titled, “Secure Our World,” drew participants from the public and private sectors, including law enforcement agencies, regulatory institutions, and fintech operators.

It also served as a rallying point for promoting vigilance against rising cyber threats, online scams, and digital fraud in Nigeria’s rapidly expanding tech ecosystem.

Throughout the awareness campaign, stakeholders emphasized the importance of partnership among government agencies, technology companies, and financial institutions in curbing cybercrime. They also highlighted the need for consumer education as a key strategy for ensuring safer online practices and building public confidence in digital transactions.

Speaking during the event, PalmPay’s Managing Director, Chika Nwosu, praised the NPF-NCCC for its leading role in promoting cybersecurity consciousness and tackling internet-related crimes.

He said, “We commend the NPF-NCCC for its proactive leadership in driving cybersecurity awareness. At PalmPay, we are committed to supporting initiatives that promote digital safety and foster trust in Nigeria’s growing digital economy.”

The fintech company was honoured at the event for its active engagement with regulatory authorities and for spearheading consumer protection efforts within Nigeria’s financial technology space.

PalmPay’s partnership with the police underscores its long-term commitment to promoting cybersecurity awareness, strengthening fraud prevention mechanisms, and building a more secure and trustworthy digital financial ecosystem for Nigerians.

Through this collaboration, both institutions reaffirmed their shared goal of making Nigeria’s digital landscape safer and more resilient against emerging cyber risks.
