The suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, has been arrested by the Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).
A competent source with the DSS also disclosed that Emefiele was arrested shortly after his suspension was approved by President Bola Tinubu.
The source added that the DSS had wanted to arrest Emefiele before now but for the quiet intervention of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to the source, the DSS had even gone to court to secure an order to effect Emefiele’s arrest for alleged terrorism financing.
But the Spokesperson for the DSS, Dr Peter Afunnaya, has declined comment at press time.
