The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, has presented a certificate of return to the newly elected Deputy National Organising Secretary of the party, Hon Nze Chidi Duru.
Presenting the certificates of return to Duru and other elected national officers of the ruling APC during a meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, Adamu congratulated them for emerging victorious during the recent National Convention of the party and urged them to work for the progress of the party at all levels.
Adamu also stated that there would be no room for failure under his watch, saying that all members of the party must work together in order to move the APC forward ahead of the 2023 general elections
Speaking with some journalists after the NWC meeting, Duru expressed appreciation to the party for finding him worthy to serve, saying that he would bring his wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of his duties to the party.
Duru is the Executive Chairman of Grand Towers Plc and founder of First Guarantee Pension Limited (FGPL).
The APC deputy national organising secretary is also a first-rate business leader and outstanding entrepreneur.
Duru is a two-term former member of the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2007.
During his stewardship at the lower chamber of the National Assembly, he held several positions in the House, including chairman, House Committee on Privatization; ad-hoc chairman, Housing and House committee on Pension Reform, among other positions.
He also championed the passage of the pension reform bill within two and half months in both chambers of the National Assembly which was signed into law by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Duru is an alumnus of the prestigious University of Harvard and also initiated and attracted many federal government intervention projects to Aguata federal constituency and Anambra State as a whole during his tenure at the House.
