The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has disclosed that it does not issue arrest warrant at instance loan firms against loan defaulters

The EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, stated this in a statement made available to TheIdeal News on Friday. Oyewale also debunked media report on some contrived documents on ” Arrest Warrant Processing”, ” Loan Fraud Escalation” and others, being circulated by some loan companies, purportedly issued by the Commission against loan defaulters.

The commission also alerted the general public over the antics of authors of such documents, saying that they falsely link their threats against loan defaulters to the Commission.

Warning Nigerians against the infamous action, the EFCC said, “The public is enjoined to be wary of such claims. As a rule, the EFCC does not issue arrest warrant on loan defaulters.”

The EFCC also warned loan firms against linking the Commission to their loan recovery efforts.

It further asked the errant firms to desist from such fraudulent engagements, saying that the EFCC may stop at nothing to bring them to book.
