Preaident Muhammadu Buhari has directed that the national flag should be flown at half-mast from Wednesday to Friday as a mark of respect for the passage of the former Head of Interim National Government (ING), the late Chief Ernest Shonekan.
Giving the directive on Tuesday, the President said, “I have directed that the National Flag be flown at half-mast, effective from Wednesday 12th to Friday 14th January, 2022, as a mark of respect for the departed former Head of the Interim National Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan, GCFR”
Shonekan died in the early hours of Tuesday at the age of 85.
