The Etsu Nupe, Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar and Emir of Zazzau, Amb Ahmed Nuhu Bamali, have expressed total support for the Executive Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, in his fight against the menace of economic and financial crimes and other acts of corruption in the country.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Media and Publicity office of the Zonal command of the EFCC and made available to TheIdeal News on Sunday.
The royal fathers expressed their support separately while playing hosts to the EFCC’s Acting Zonal Director, Kaduna Zonal Command, DCE Benedict Ubi and his team during courtesy visits to the two Emirates.
Both the Etsu Nupe and Emir of Zazzau also charged the entire team of the EFCC to always put the fear of God in their minds in the discharge of their duties while acknowledging the good work the Commission is doing for the nation.
The revered two royal fathers also said they are not going to relent in putting in efforts to support the EFCC and other law enforcement agencies in stamping out corruption and other forms of criminalities.
The Etsu Nupe also prayed for God’s guidance on the work the EFCC is doing and assures that the doors of the Niger Emirate will always be open to the Commission.
On his own part, the Emir of Zazzau commended the EFCC for the transformation and changes the Commission has made professionally, especially with regards to engagement with the public.
Earlier in his speech, the Acting Zonal Director, Benedict Ubi, who is in charge of Niger and Kaduna states, thanked the two Emirates respectively, saying the EFCC needed the blessings of the traditional rulers in carrying out its assigned mandate while also calling on them to deepen their partnership with the Commission through adequate promotion of ethics, values and behavioural change among their subjects.
Ubi further said that the anti-corruption drive was guided strictly by the rule of law, accountability and transparency.
