The former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Sadiya Umar-Farouk, has arrived at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to meet with interrogators.

It is instructive to note that Umar-Farouq is under investigation over the alleged diversion of N37.18billion during her tenure in office through a contractor, James Okwete.

The former minister arrived at the EFCC headquarters at about 10am on Monday.

Incidentally, the former minister also wrote in her X page (formerly known as Twitter) about her presence at the EFCC headquarters, saying that she had arrived at the commission office to offer clarifications on the commission investigation.

Umar-Farouk wrote “I have, at my behest, arrived at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to honour the invitation by the anti-graft agency to offer clarifications in respect of some issues that the commission is investigating.”
