Finland Government has arrested the factional leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Simon Ekpa.
Ekpa, a secessionist that claimed to be unflinchingly loyal to the detained leader of the IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has been fingered as the brain behind many killings and attacks on citizens and security formations in South-East.
With presidential election scheduled to hold on Saturday, Ekpa had contrary to the position of the IPOB, declared that elections would not take place in the region.

Consequently, he declared a sit-at-home in the entire region on election day, an action that drew flaks for him from both citizens and the government.
There has been a spike in killings within the region since Ekpa’s declaration, with the latest victim being the Senatorial candidate of the Labour Party in Enugu state who was assassinated on Wednesday.
Pundits have argued that Ekpa’s misadventures could affect the chances of one of the frontline contenders for the presidency, Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party who is not only from the region, but currently enjoying overwhelming support of millions of disenchanted youths who are yearning for change.
Incidentally, the Finnish government had handed Ekpa a 48- hour ultimatum to withdraw his sit-at-home order or face arrest.
