Social media influencer, Blessing CEO, has called on single mothers to take a cue from actress Iyabo Ojo’s actions during her daughter Priscilla’s wedding.
In a recent video, Blessing emphasized the importance of fathers being involved in their children’s lives, regardless of the parents’ relationship status.
She commended Iyabo Ojo for setting aside personal differences and allowing Priscilla’s biological father to walk her down the aisle, despite their past rift.
Blessing urged single mothers not to let personal grievances interfere with the bond between fathers and their children.
She encouraged them to prioritize the well-being of their children and permit fathers to play their roles—emotionally, financially, or otherwise—in their upbringing.
She said: “Single mothers what did you learn from Iyabo Ojo at her daughter’s wedding? What did you learn. Allow these men to take care of their children. Even if you train the child on your own, the man would still give the child out in marriage.
“Did Iyabo Ojo teach you something? She did not carry Pauloo to give her daughter away. It was Priscilla’s father who gave out his daughter in marriage, despite their rift. The video is just a video for the jagabans, community women and feminists. Madam, allow these men to play their roles in their children’s lives. Anything they want to give to their father, allow them.
“Anything they want to give to their mother’s allows them. Let him play whatever role he wants to play. If he wants to come once a year. At the end of the day, a father is a father. I hope you learnt something because I’ve learned a lot”.
