The Borno Command of the Federal Road Safery Corps (FRSC) has assured the military of sustained support in the fight against insurgency and other security challenges in Borno.

The Sector Commander, Mr Sanusi Ibrahim, gave the assurance on Tuesday in Maiduguri while welcoming the newly appointed Garrison Commander of 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maiduguri, Col. AGL Haruna, who paid him a familiarisation visit.

Ibrahim said that the FRSC had been enjoying a smooth working relationship with the military and would continue on the already established synergy.

“We will continue to collaborate with you, especially, in the area of intelligence sharing as it is a known fact that our officers and men are on the highways.

” As such, whatever we see or hear that requires your attention, we will not hesitate to relay the message to you,” Ibrahim said.

He raised concerns over the attitude of some military men, particularly in mufti, who used to violate traffic rules with impunity and urged the commander to take action against such personnel.

In his remarks, the Garrison Commander, Col. AGL Haruna, lauded the existing synergy between the Army and the FRSC and assured the Corps of sustainability.

Haruna urged the FRSC not to hesitate to draw the attention of the army authorities to issues of insecurity any time the need arises for prompt response.
