Kebbi State Governor Atiku Bagudu has approved the release of N1.9billion to Kebbi State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB.

The development was disclosed in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor, Abubakar Muazu Dakingari.

The CPS also quoted  the Chairman of SUBEB Prof Suleiman Khalid Jega, as saying as saying that the fund is for the construction of additional classrooms and renovation of dilapidated physical structures in Primary and Junior Secondary Schools in the state.

Jega added that the fund would also be used to provide school furniture and water including sanitation facilities, boreholes and hand pumps as well as perimeter fencing and Information and Communication Technology, ICT facilities in all the schools under the board.

He also explained that Governor Bagudu recently directed the Board to continue Nomadic Schools in Fulani settlements throughout the state which has been done.

Jega added that teaching and learning have commenced while furniture, water and other instructional materials have been provided for the schools.
