Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has expressed sadness over the death of the Emir of Zuru, Major General Mohammed Sani Sami (Gomo II), who died at age 81.

Governor Radda also described the late emir as a father figure whose guidance was sought across Northern Nigeria.

The Spokesman to Katsina Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, also quoted Radda as saying that, “His leadership combined firmness with understanding, and his life reflected dedication, service, and integrity.”

Governor Radda also noted that the emir was a principled and visionary leader whose decades of service as both military officer and traditional ruler left a lasting impact.

He said, “ The late Emir combined decades of military discipline with the compassion of a traditional ruler, earning respect across Kebbi State and beyond.”

The Katsina Governor described the emir’s death as a great loss, especially when Nigeria needs experienced and principled leaders.

Governor Radda said, “ On behalf of the Government and the people of Katsina State, I extended condolences to Kebbi State government, the Zuru Emirate Council, and the emir’s family.”
