Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has congratulated Maryamu Idris on her appointment as Nigeria’s National Representative at the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

Maryamu , who currently serves as Managing Director of NNPC Trading Limited, is an indigene of Katsina State.

The Chief Press Secretary to Katsina Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, stated this in a statement made available to TheIdeal News on Monday.

Speaking on the uniqueness of the appointment, Governor Radda described it as a testament to the quality of professionals that Katsina State continues to produce for national and international service.

He said, “We are proud that a daughter of Katsina State has been entrusted with representing Nigeria at such a prestigious international organization.”

The Katsina Governor expressed confidence that Maryamu would bring her vast experience in the oil and gas sector to bear in advancing Nigeria’s interests within OPEC.

Radda noted that the appointment reflects the administration of President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to placing competent Nigerians in strategic positions regardless of their state of origin.

Governor Radda wished Maryamu success in her new role and charged her to continue being a worthy ambassador of Katsina State and Nigeria.
