Former Jigawa state governor and a founding father of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Sule Lamido, has said he remains a loyal member of the party despite a myriad of injustices meted out on him and his loyalists.
Lamido said he is open to forming alliances with other political parties, depending on the outcome of a crucial meeting of the party scheduled for the end of December 2025, that will determine his next line of action.
He made this known while addressing party loyalists at his office in the Sharada area of Kano Wednesday.
The former governor urged his supporters to be patient, assuring them that efforts were ongoing at the national level to resolve the lingering internal crises rocking the party.
He said he has held consultations with key stakeholders in the PDP, including former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and other party chieftains, who have assured him that they are working towards finding a lasting solution to the party’s teething problems.
“By ending of this month 31st December, 2025 , we shall know where we are going, but I and my members are open to alliances with political parties,” he stated.
Lamido recalled that he had earlier issued a 10-day ultimatum to the PDP over the recent executive committee formed during the party’s Ibadan convention, demanding that the forum be disbanded or risk legal action.
