…Orders supplementary election in Ihiala LG on Tuesday
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in the early hours of Monday, declared the Anambra governorship election as inconclusive and ordered a supplementary election in Ihiala Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday.
The electoral body added that it is when the election is held at the affected LGA that the collation of results will continue while the final results will be declared thereafter.
The Returning Officer, who is also the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof Florence Obi, announced the development couple of minutes after 12am on Monday.
She also disclosed that the decision to suspend the collation of results is to give room for the electorates in Ihiala LGA to exercise their civic rights and elect a governor of their choice.
Theideal recalls that the collation officer for Ihiala LGA had, on Sunday, said there was no election in the entire area.
