Operatives of Tantita Security Services Limited, working with security agencies, have again intercepted a massive vessel carrying barrels of illegally sourced crude oil in Escravos sea in Delta State.
Tantita Security Services Limited is owned by a former Niger Delta militant, Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo.
Popularly known as Tompolo, Ekpemupolo’s company was saddled with the task of providing security for one of the three major oil pipelines in the country.
The company has made several arrests of crude oil thieves, with some pitting it against the military.
According to highly placed security sources, the pipeline being guarded by Tantita Security Services Limited is now over 90 per cent secured.
In the latest arrest, sources said the operatives of Tantita Security Services Limited intercepted the ship last week in the Niger Delta creeks while on an illegal operation.
