The Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee (LPPC) has approved the elevation of Mrs Funmi Falana, wife of a legal luminary, mr Femi Falana (SAN), Mr Kayode Ajulo and other 56 lawyers to the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN)
The Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court and Secretary of the LPPC, Ms. Hajo Bello made this known in a statement made available to TheIdeal News on Thursday.
The coveted SAN is a rank conferred on legal practitioners in Nigeria who have distinguished themselves in the legal profession.
Bello added that the LPPC approved the elevation of the 58 lawyers at its 159th plenary session held on Thursday.
In attendance was the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who also doubles as the LPPC chairman.
The Chief Registrar also disclosed that during the meeting, the committee, after giving consideration, dismissed four petitions that were written against some of the applicants.
She then said, “The swearing-in ceremony of the 58 successful applicants is scheduled to take place on Monday, the 27th day of November 2023.”
The full list includes the following: “Funmi Falana, Felix Offia, Lawrence Falade, Kingsley Obamogie, Folashade Alli, Abiola Oyebanji, Bomo Agbebi, Daniel Uruakpa, Oseloka Osuigwe, Babatunde Adeoye, Babaseyi Joseph, Emmanuel Enoidem, Kehinde Aina, Ngozi Olehi, Aaron Okoroma, Ibrahim Angulu, Olayiwola Afolabi, Sule Shu’aibu, Abiodun Olaleru, Kazeem Sobaloju and Shehu Abdullahi.
