The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a popular Nigerian Instagram celebrity, Mr Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest.
It was further gathered that Okechukwu was arrested by EFCC operatives at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Wednesday.
Though details of the allegations against Okechukwu were sketchy , a top source within the commission disclosed that the socialite was being quizzed by the operatives , following his alleged involvement in money laundering and fraud.
The source also stated that Okechukwu was arrested at the Abuja airport on his way to Owerri, the Imo State capital.
The source said, “The popular Instagram socialite (Cubana Chief Priest) is in our custody in Abuja. He was arrested on Wednesday at Abuja Airport on his way to Owerri.”
Our correspondent’s efforts to get the reaction of EFCC’s Head of Media & Publicity, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, proved abortive at press time.
