In a bid to stop universities from being shutdown by another round of strike, the Federal Government has summoned a meeting with the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

TheIdeal reports that ASUU had few days ago threatened to resume the industrial action it suspended since December 2020,  over the Federal Government’s alleged failure to honour many of the agreements it signed with the Union.

To arrest the strike, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige will on Tuesday meet with the ASUU leadership, a statement on Saturday by Mr Charles Akpan, the Deputy Director Press and Public Relations at the ministry said.
