Nigerians have expressed divergent views over the launching of the National Unity Fabric under the aegis of One Nigeria Initiative by the First Lady of Nigeria, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu.

Mrs Tinubu had launched the National Unity Fabric on Monday and made the cash presentation of N25 million to Miss Mofiyinfoluwa during the ceremony at the State House, Abuja.

The First Lady also explained that the project was designed to foster creativity, enhance unity and love, support local enterprises to boost the nation’s economy.

She announced that the selected best fabric would be used officially in October 1, during the nation’s independence celebration.

But mixed reactions are now trailing the project as some Nigerians viewed the initiative as an early strategic move, while others express concern over its timing, especially in light of dissatisfaction against the current administration’s policies, which many believe have exacerbated the hardships faced by ordinary Nigerians.
