The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has again for the seventh time, rescheduled the commercial launch of the Port Harcourt Refinery to September.
The NNPCL’s Chief Financial Officer, Umar Ajiya, disclosed this during a press briefing in Abuja.
Ajiya stated that petroleum products will undergo testing before being supplied to the domestic market in September.
Incidentally, the update was sequel to previous announcements that did not materialize.
The Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL, Mele Kyari, had earlier promised that the refinery would begin production in August.
The NNPCL had also set March and July 2024 as target dates, following the refinery’s mechanical completion in December last year.
