A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin, says he feels terribly embarrassed when knowledgeable Northerners claim the region is shortchanged in the rotation of the nation’s presidency.
Jibrin stated this on Wednesday while speaking on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television.
The lawmaker, who is a Kano House of Representatives member, also lamented that the Northern part of Nigeria has always united against itself politically.
He said, “I feel terribly embarrassed when I see knowledgeable northerners say the north is shortchanged in the rotation of the presidency.
“The North has always united against itself and it is time for us to tell ourselves the truth.
“It’s an insult to former heads of state from the region when a Northerners goes on national television to spill such comments.”
