The Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, has asked Edo Governor-Elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo, to fulfill his campaign promises while stating that God Almighty works in mysterious ways.
The first-class monarch spoke on Tuesday in Benin, according to his Chief Press Secretary, Osaigbovo Iguobaro, when
Okpebholo and Edo Deputy Governor-Elect, Dennis Idahosa, visited him.
They presented their certificates of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), ahead of their inauguration on November 12 to the monarch.
The foremost traditional ruler, who expressed confidence that Edo Governor-Elect would deliver good governance, thanked God Almighty, his ancestors, security agencies and President Bola Tinubu for the September 21 peaceful poll..
He said: “God works in mysterious ways. This palace is open to you.
“You should do your best to carry out the promises you made during your campaigns, to the admiration of all, and more blessings will come.”
The Oba of Benin also promised to continue to pray without ceasing, ahead of the Emoro, also known as new yam festival and his 8th coronation anniversary.
Okpebholo thanked the eminent royal father for his prayers.
The Governor-Elect and Deputy Governor-Elect were accompanied by a former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Adams Oshiomhole and Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu, among other APC leaders.
