Voting has ended in the Ondo State governorship election hours after the people exercised their franchise across the oil-producing state.

It is instructive to note that in some parts of the state, the voting exercise ended at about 2:30 pm with sorting and counting of votes already in process.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) also disclosed that voters who arrived at the polling units and yet to cast their ballots before the stipulated time will be allowed to do so.

The election began at about 8am in the 3,933 polling units of the state while the materials for the exercise arrived in some places as early as 6 am with officials of INEC ramping up preparations for the poll.
