The killing of 38 people across the locations in Kaduna State has been greeted with outrage and condemnation, with a call on Security agencies to go after the bandits behind the act.

President Muhammadu Buhari in a statement by his senior special Assistant on Media & Publicity, Garba Shehu noted that the renewed terrorist killings in Kaduna State, has made him particularly sad, adding that the killings unacceptable.

TheIdeal reports Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, had confirmed the gruesome killings of 38 persons following attacks on Kauran Fawa, Marke and Ruhiya of Idasu Ward of Giwa Local Government Area.

Bandits within the week also killed citizens in Zangon Kataf, Chikun, Birnin Gwari, Igabi and Kauru LGAs of Kaduna State.

According to Garba Shehu, the President prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased.

He stated, “President Buhari affirmed that our security forces have turned the heat on the terrorists who are getting frustrated and are soft-targeting innocent citizens, looting their assets, burning their homes and killing them indiscriminately.

“He has reiterated his directive to the security and intelligence chiefs to do everything they can to destroy the remaining vestiges of the terrorists.”

In his reaction, former vice president Atiku Abubakar said it is heartbreaking that the sanctity of human life has little or no premium in our land.

In a post on his official Facebook, he wrote, “The near-daily killing of innocent citizens for whatever reason stands condemned. My thoughts and prayers are with the affected families in the separate attacks in Giwa, Chikun, Zaria and Zangon Kataf Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.”
