Makinde shared the update in his personal newsletter on Thursday while addressing two major issues of concern.
Reflecting on recent developments in the state, Makinde said the past two weeks have been particularly eventful.
He said, “From commissioning the Ibadan Central Bus Terminals at Iwo Road Interchange to advancing major projects across our zones, Oyo State continues on its path of steady and sustainable development.”
Since assuming office in 2019, the Oyo Governor said his administration has operated with a single guiding principle: building a state that serves not only today’s citizens but generations to come.
He said, “You will recall that when we began the modern bus terminal projects some questioned the need for such infrastructure. Today, the terminals at Challenge and Ojoo are easing movement, supporting commerce, and preparing our city for the population growth we know is coming. That is what responsible leadership requires — planning for tomorrow, not reacting only to today.”
Addressing recent discussions about the 110 km Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road Corridor, Makinde emphasized transparency, saying that, “In recent days, there have also been conversations about the 110 km Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road Corridor and its development. I have taken time to speak clearly about this matter because I believe our people deserve facts.
He further reflected on the demands of leadership, saying that, “Leadership demands patience, consistency, and the willingness to stay focused even when we are misunderstood. We cannot embrace the applause and reject the responsibility that comes with making tough decisions. And although some moments may feel difficult, we will always choose the path that secures a better future for our State.”
Turning to the PDP National Convention in Ibadan, the governor highlighted Oyo State’s political significance.
He said. “As we prepare to welcome party faithfuls for the PDP Convention this weekend, I am once again reminded that Oyo State continues to play a central role in the political and economic life of our nation. This is a responsibility we carry with humility and pride. Thank you for walking this journey with us. Together, we will keep moving forward… building the Oyo State we can all be proud to call home.”
