The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) tagged the state chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) as unpopular to Deltans following its campaign tour of the wards across the Delta North senatorial district of the state.

During its ward-to-ward campaigns in Delta North senatorial district of the state, Senatorial Chairman, Moses Idu alongside Candidates of the party in the district maintained that there is no room for it’s keen opposition in the state for upcoming elections.

They said that the failure of the incumbent ruling party at the Federal level was clear as the party lacked achievements to campaign with.

The party said the mode of operation of its campaign itinerary, especially in Delta North senatorial district, has shown that APC will not win two, out of the 25 council areas of the state.

Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Chief Patrick Ukah, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr Olise Ifeajika at ward 3 and 4 at Illah and Okpanam respectively yesterday declared APC campaign schedule for Delta North, has a “harsh reality check on its dwindling fortunes ahead of the 2023 general elections.”

Ifeajika described the journey of the APC and its governorship candidate ambition of Deputy Senate President, Chief Ovie Omo Agege as an exercise in futility.

He mentioned that APC has severally desperately lumped four Wards together for converging at a central location in each major town in the federal constituencies of Delta North zone, with the intent to shore up their numbers at the various campaign stumps, which was a loud admission and an incontrovertible indication that the party has accepted its unpopularity in Delta North and Delta state at large.

“This cannot be compared to the pomp, pageantry, and carnival-like ward-to-ward tumultuous crowds of supporters that welcomed the PDP campaign teams, which is a runaway success from every indication.

“In its frantic and despairing attempt to hoodwink Deltans into believing that this kindergarten ploy, the APC has unfortunately and inadvertently exposed the fact that it not only lacks the presence of solid structures and personnel on ground, but lacks any modicum of popularity and will be unable to muster a meaningful crowd if it decides to go into elections next year,” he said.
