A member of the Presidential Committee on Economic and Financial Inclusion, Chief Temitope Fawehinmi, has paid homage to the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, Elewu Etu I, at his Boroboro private residence in Oyo town, Oyo State.

During her recent visit to the foremost royal father, Chief Temitope Fawehinmi, who is also the Gbajeniyi of Egbaland, reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to the inclusiveness of women in the act of governance as well promotion of gender equality.

She said, “You know, I am an ambassador for the Presidential Committee. I’m committed to promoting economic empowerment. So, basically we need to start looking at the saved people in our communities.

“We will start here in Oyo, especially with the women, because we need to empower the women. We need to support them. I am a woman too, and I have a lot of the Gbajeniyi women all over the country.

“Our meeting was not just a mere courtesy visit, it was a powerful exchange rooted in mutual respect, cultural pride, and a shared vision for the upliftment of our people, especially women. I am deeply grateful for His Majesty’s wisdom, blessings, and unwavering commitment to recognizing the vital role of women in preserving our heritage and driving meaningful progress.

“What made the moment even more special was the joyful presence of the Gbajeniyi women from Egbaland and Oyo Town, who came out in numbers to show their support and excitement. Their energy, pride, and unity were a beautiful reminder of the strength that lies in sisterhood and cultural solidarity.”

The Alaafin had earlier thanked Chief Temitope Fawehinmi and her entourage, promising to maintain the cordial relationship that has been in existence between Oyo and Egbaland.

The first class monarch therefore, assured them of his support in promoting the culture and tradition of the Yoruba race.
