
In continuation of the Nigerian Army Day, the 8th Division, on Monday, launched free medical outreach in Sifawa village of Bodinga local government area of Sokoto State.



Speaking before declaring the outreach open, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 8th Div, Maj Gen Usman Yusuf, assured that the Nigerian Army has the best medical personnel.
The GOC, who represented by the Garrison Commander, 8th Div. Brig Gen Ralph Nnebeife, said, “Nigeria Army has one of the best medical health care experts that are trusted and capable of handling most forms of ailments”.
Appealing to the people of Sifawa to be patient, Gen Usman stated that the medicals on ground want the very best to be provided for each and every one.
He said, “Where we do not have the medicines for some ailments, we will ensure that we provide same even after today”.
Visibly satisfied with the development, the Sarkin Kudu and District Head of Bodinga local government, Alhaji Buhari Tambari, commended the Nigerian Army for the intervention.
Speaking in his welcome address, the District Head and Sarkin Kudu of Sifawa, Alhaji Buhari Tambari appreciated the 8th Div Nigerian Army for its gestures towards assisting humanity.
To the people of Sifawa, Sarkin Kudu urged them to be patient and law abiding during the course of the medical outreach.
On his part, the Director of Health, Bodinga local government, Alhaji Bello Maigande, prayed Almighty Allah to continue to bless the Nigerian Army.
He said, “As a Director of Health, I know for sure that this medical outreach is a great relief for most people that don’t even have the financial means and otherwise to access medical attention. Our happiness therefore is the fact that, the same medical attention has come to their door steps and for free.”
Giving brief on how the medical outreach will be conducted, Dr Major Dikkol Nendangton Dakup said they are fully prepared hence the came with surgeons and all professionals in the health sector that will enable them get the very best of their services.
Noting that the Nigerian Army always appreciate good relationship with host communities, Dr Dakup averred that It is only when the populace are healthy that they can contribute to the work of the Nigerian Army.
He further listed activities for the medical outreach to include, health talk, consultations, dental services, eye care services, laboratory services, Covid 19 awareness and sensitizarion as well as immunization amongst others.
Responding, a beneficiary who simply identified herself as Halima said, they never knew that the Nigerian Army has such humane characteristic, as according to her, all they know of the Army was brutality and war.
She added that with what they have just demonstrated in their locality now, it goes to show that the Nigerian soldiers are true professionals that have the lives of the people at heart at all times.
