The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has conferred the chieftaincy title of Aare Atayeto Oodua of the Source on the President of Ghana, Dr. John Mahama.
The installation which took place on Monday in Ile-Ife, Osun State, is said to be part of the activities marking the 10th coronation anniversary of the Ooni.

Credit: X| GTV_GhanaUpon arrival, Ghana’s president was welcomed at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, Ibadan, Oyo State, before proceeding to Ile-Ife where a large crowd also welcomed him into the ancient city.Announcing the event on X, Ghana’s national television, GTV, wrote, “President Mahama was conferred ‘Aare Atayeto Oodua of the Source’ to wit ‘A President who reorganises the global space for humanity’ by Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ooni of Ife.”The installation took place at the Palace Square and was attended by the President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote; and the Publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu; among others.PUNCH Online reported last week that the Ooni similarly conferred the Yeye Asiwaju title on the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.See more photos below:Ooni confers chieftaincy title on Ghanaian President Mahama.
