Senator Ali Ndume has urged  Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of unity and tolerance in all their dealings, saying that the development remains the  key to peaceful co-existence in the country.

Senator Ndume (APC, Borno South) in his Sallah message on Tuesday, felicitated with Muslim faithful across Nigeria on the Eid-el-Adha celebrations.

Ndume  also commended the Muslim population  for the important roles which he said they have played in sustaining the peace, unity and development of the nation despite the numerous challenges confronting them.

Ndume, who is also the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, further advised Nigerians to shun acts that are capable of heating up the polity.

He said, “The diverse nature of the Nigerian people is the main source of her strength and unity. We stand to lose a lot if we continue to dwell on what divides us rather than focus on what unites us as people.”

Urging the members of his constituency to continue to rededicate themselves to the onerous task of nation building, Ndume explained that the essence of the Eid-el-Adha festival must be emulated by all.

Ndume added that he is much committed to the well-being and development of his constituents, praising them for their resilience and patience in the face of the insecurity.

“I will continue to strive hard to bring government closer to my people and see to their welfare because, we are in this together”, the senator added.
