judgment, PDP, Court

The Supreme Court on Monday reserved its judgment in the appeal filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its Adamawa State governorship candidate, Senator Aisha Dahiru (aka Binani) against the election of Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

It is instructive to note that the Adamawa State Election Petitions Tribunal had dismissed the petition by the APC and Senator Binani and upheld the election of Governor Fintiri.

Dissatisfied, the APC and Binani approached the Court of Appeal for redress while the appellate court dismissed their appeal.

Still dissatisfied, the APC and Binani filed an appeal before the Supreme Court, challenging the victory of Finitiri in the governorship election.

Having listened to the arguments by the parties, a five-member panel of the apex court led by a Justice of Supreme Court (JSC), Justice John Okoro, adjourned the matter for judgment.

The apex court added that it would communicate the date of the judgement to the parties accordingly.
